Christmas time finally approached and it was a joyful time spent with family. We had a busy Christmas weekend starting with Friday. My parents and sister came to do presents with the girls. They were so funny to watch opening their gifts. They got spoiled once again! Some of their presents included: a fairy and Cinderella dress-up outfit, Camera, clothes, Strawberry Shortcake playhouse, and My Little Pony baby.
On Christmas Eve, our family tradition is to go to church with Doug's parents. This year since Christmas Eve was on a Saturday and Doug's didn't have to work we were able to attend the 3:00 service. After church, another family tradition is spending Christmas Eve night with our neighbors, The Olson's. My girls exchange gifts with their daughter and we spend time with their family and friends.
Once we got home, we had to put out the cookies and milk. Oh and we can't forget about the reindeer. The girls put carrots out on the deck for them. A new tradition we are starting is the girls get to open one present on Christmas Eve which will always be their pajamas. Princess Belle got Hello Kitty and Princess Aurora got Minnie Mouse or as she would say, "Mimmie!"
Christmas morning was so much fun! Santa came and left goodies for the girls downstairs. Here are some pictures of the girls opening their gifts.
Doug and I exchanged gifts this year. I bought him a membership into the St. Julian Wine Club. He was surprised and excited! He has wanted to join but that is something he would never do on his own.
In the afternoon, Doug's parents and brother's family came over to exchange gifts and have dinner. Once again my girls were spoiled. We had ham for dinner with all the trimmings. Of course we had to make chicken nuggets for my three nieces and my girls.
It was another wonderful Christmas with plenty of joy and laughter. Now on to New Year's Eve, in which we are hosting Doug's extended family Christmas. :)
I can't forget to add that my Christmas present was a stomach virus. I came about 11 pm and lasted all through the night. Yuck!!
